More than 5 million teeth are knocked out or damaged each year, many from accidents or sudden injuries. If you’re dealing with a broken tooth, you need fast, reliable care, not a long wait.

The Comprehensive Dental Group of Houston provides same-day broken tooth extractions to help you feel better quickly. We use advanced technology and proven techniques to make the process smooth, safe, and as pain-free as possible.

Our experienced team will guide you through each step, explain what’s happening, and treat your dental emergency with care and urgency.

When Does a Broken Tooth Need to Be Removed?

Not all broken teeth require extraction, but some damage is too severe to be repaired. If the break extends below the gum line, exposes the nerve, or leads to infection, the best option may be to remove the tooth.

Common reasons for broken tooth extractions include:

  • Severe fractures from accidents or injuries.
  • Deep decay that can’t be restored with a filling or crown.
  • Infection or abscess that puts your health at risk.
  • Cracked teeth causing constant pain or swelling.

Our dental specialists will examine your tooth, take digital X-rays, and let you know if an extraction is necessary. If there’s a way to save the tooth, we’ll talk you through it. However, if removal is the safest option, we’ll ensure it’s done gently and with your comfort in mind.

Ready for your brandnew smile?

Our Broken Tooth Extraction Process

We know no one likes the idea of getting a tooth pulled. But when a tooth is broken beyond repair, removing it is the best way to stop the pain and protect the rest of your smile. Our job is to make that process as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Step 1. Exam and Digital X-Rays

We start by taking a close look at the tooth and surrounding area using low-radiation digital X-rays. This helps us see how deep the damage goes and decide if the tooth can be saved or needs to come out.

Step 2. Talk You Through It

We’ll walk you through what we see, explain the next steps, and answer your questions. If the tooth needs to be removed, we’ll talk about pain relief, sedation options, and what to expect.

Step 3. Gentle Extraction

Using modern tools and gentle techniques, we remove the tooth with as little discomfort as possible. Most patients say it’s quicker and easier than they expected.

Step 4. Aftercare and Healing

Once the tooth is out, we’ll give you clear instructions to help you heal quickly, like what to eat, how to manage any soreness, and how to avoid complications. We’re also here for follow-up care if you need it.

I was a patient of Dr. Gervais before he retired and then became a patient under the practice of Dr. Cuellar and Kipp. Of the many compliments I could give, the top three that will make me a patient for life are 1) they were always listening to my concerns, 2) the follow up treatment was always in my interest, and 3) the icing on the cake was the reconstructive work he performed was top tier. Therefore, on a 5 star scale, they max it out! Thank you Dr. Cuellar and Staff for everything!

I have been doing a lot of searching roughly for at least 4 years for the best Dental Implant Dentist. One day as I was watching one of the Television Channels in Houston, Dr. Hanna was the guest along with one of the clinic's client being interviewed. After that episode I decided that " Dr. Hanna " will be that Implant Dentist that i have been looking for. I therefore contacted Comprehensive Dental Group of Houston right away and scheduled an appointment. On day one I was already amazed of the excellent customer service that I received. Everyone in the clinic are very professional, nice and made sure that I was comfortable including my husband . All my questions and concerns were answered in a timely manner. The cost of the Implant and whole process were explained clearly and to me it was reasonable. During the Implant procedure all the staff made sure that I was comfortable and explained all the post procedure expectations. I am very happy and satisfied with the excellent customer service that I received. Many Thanks to Dr. Hanna and to all the staff for all the hard work and dedication. I therefore highly recommend Comprehensive Dental Group of Houston for and any Dental services and Implant needs.Update on my review: My final teeth were placed after months of careful adjustments to ensure that it was the right fit. I was so happy and impressed how it looked really good and felt right. The fit is impressive. Many Thanks again to Dr. Hannah and to the whole team of Comprehensive Dental Group of Houston. A very special Thanks and shout out to "KIPP", he is "awesome " He is very knowledgeable, competent, gentle, caring and professional . He helped me so much throughout this process. Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to extract a broken tooth?

The cost depends on how complex the extraction is. A simple broken tooth extraction usually ranges from $150 to $400. After an exam and digital X-ray, we’ll provide a clear estimate and explain your options so you’re never caught off guard.

Yes, you can. In fact, some broken teeth need to be removed if they can’t be saved with a crown, filling, or root canal. If the break goes below the gum line, exposes the nerve, or leads to infection, extraction may be the best way to stop pain and protect your health. Our specialists will evaluate the damage and recommend the best treatment for your situation.

If only part of the tooth is left or it’s broken into pieces, we can still remove it. Our team uses special tools and techniques to carefully extract the remaining parts of the tooth without harming nearby tissue. Whether it’s a full or partial removal, we’ll make sure the process is smooth and as pain-free as possible.

You can get your tooth extraction done right here at The Comprehensive Dental Group of Houston. We offer same-day appointments, emergency care, and a team that specializes in fast, effective extractions. Our clinic is fully equipped to handle urgent dental cases, and we’re located right in Houston for easy access when you need help the most.

Yes, we do. We understand that dental emergencies can arise unexpectedly, so we offer several ways to make your care more affordable. We accept major dental insurance plans and also offer in-house payment plans. Many patients also use CareCredit for third-party financing, which allows you to spread payments out over time with little or no interest.

When you’re in pain, you don’t want to gamble with your care. You want a dental team that knows exactly what to do, and does it with compassion, skill, and speed.

Here’s what sets us apart:

  • Same-day appointments for dental emergencies. We don’t make you wait. If your tooth is broken and you’re in pain, we’ll do our best to see you the same day.
  • Experienced, gentle care. Our dentists have years of experience handling broken tooth extractions. We use the latest tools and techniques to make the process fast, safe, and as comfortable as possible.
  • Modern technology. From digital X-rays to advanced imaging, our tools help us make quick, accurate decisions—so you’re never left guessing.
  • Flexible payment options. We work with your insurance and offer payment plans that ease the financial stress.
  • A focus on patient comfort. We know dental visits can feel overwhelming. That’s why we take the time to explain everything, answer your questions, and offer sedation options if needed.

Houston families have trusted us for years, and we’re proud to be the place they turn to when it matters most.

Your first visit will start with a quick check-in and a conversation about what’s going on. We’ll take digital X-rays to get a clear view of the problem, then explain what we see and how we can help. If your tooth needs to be removed, we’ll discuss sedation options, answer your questions, and move forward with treatment, often on the same day. You’ll leave knowing exactly what to do next and how to take care of yourself during the recovery process.
