Being an extremely talented student, he was then awarded a prestigious scholarship to the Navy Dental Corps. Three years later, he opened his own private restorative dentistry practice.

However, he has continued to learn throughout his career, taking courses at the L.D. Pankey Institute to increase his knowledge of up-to-date dental techniques.
