Caring for Your Dental Implants
After you get dental implants in Houston, one of the first things your dentist will do is show you how to care for them properly. Fortunately, unlike dentures, dental implants require very little special care. Watch this video to learn more.
With dental implants, maintaining a good oral hygiene routine will help them last. Brush and floss as normal, and see your dentist every six months for a check-up. The only difference is that there may be a small space between the crown of the implant and the gum that can allow bacteria to build up. Be vigilant about brushing the gum line around the implant, and floss in that gap to remove plaque and debris. Although you can’t get a cavity in a dental implant, you can get gum disease in that area, so careful brushing and flossing will help you avoid issues.
