Even one missing or damaged tooth can impact more than just your smile. It can affect your confidence, oral health, and quality of life. At The Comprehensive Dental Group, we offer a permanent solution to restore your smile with single tooth dental implants in Houston, Texas.

Single tooth implants are the gold standard for replacing a missing tooth, offering durability, aesthetics, and functionality unmatched by other restorative options. Whether you’ve lost a tooth to decay, injury, or extraction, our skilled team is here to help you regain a natural, confident smile.

What Is a Single Tooth Dental Implant?

A single tooth dental implant is a state-of-the-art procedure designed to replace one missing tooth, replicating the look and function of a natural tooth. This advanced restorative option consists of three key components:

  1. Implant post: A titanium or zirconia implant post is surgically placed into the jawbone to serve as a new tooth root.
  2. Abutment: A connector piece that attaches the implant to the crown.
  3. Crown: The visible portion of the replacement tooth, custom-designed to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth.

This solution is designed to provide stability and preserve the health of adjacent teeth.

Who Is a Candidate for a Single Tooth Dental Implant?

A single tooth implant is an excellent option for most patients, but they are ideal for:

  • Have lost one tooth due to decay, injury, or extraction.
  • Possess healthy gums and sufficient jawbone density to support the implant.
  • Maintain good oral hygiene and commit to regular dental check-ups.

For patients with insufficient bone density, preparatory procedures like bone grafting may be the best course of action to ensure implant success.

There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to single tooth dental implants—because at CDG, we make it work for everyone. Whether you have bone loss or other challenges, we’ve got the expertise and technology to create a seamless process just for you.

You don’t need to worry about being the “right” candidate. With our advanced approach, our specialists have a solution that benefits everyone.

The Single Tooth Implant Process at CDGH

Replacing a missing tooth with a dental implant is a multi-step process that prioritizes precision and long-term success. Here’s what to expect at The Comprehensive Dental Group of Houston:

Step 1. Personalized Consultation

Your journey starts with a thorough evaluation. We’ll check your oral health, take X-rays or 3D scans, and talk about your treatment options. This is your time to ask questions and get clear on what’s ahead.

Step 2. Implant Surgery & Abutment Placement

During the procedure, a small titanium post (the implant) is gently placed into your jawbone. In many cases, we also attach the abutment—the connector for your crown—on the same day. This step sets the foundation for your new tooth.

Step 3. Healing & Bone Integration

Over the next few months, your implant naturally bonds with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration. This important step ensures your new tooth stays strong and secure—just like a natural one.

Step 4. Crown Placement

Once healing is complete, we place your custom-designed crown. It’s made to match your surrounding teeth in color, shape, and size. In some cases, we may place a temporary crown so you can enjoy a full smile while you heal. Either way, you’ll leave our office looking and feeling your best.

I was a patient of Dr. Gervais before he retired and then became a patient under the practice of Dr. Cuellar and Kipp. Of the many compliments I could give, the top three that will make me a patient for life are 1) they were always listening to my concerns, 2) the follow up treatment was always in my interest, and 3) the icing on the cake was the reconstructive work he performed was top tier. Therefore, on a 5 star scale, they max it out! Thank you Dr. Cuellar and Staff for everything!

I have been doing a lot of searching roughly for at least 4 years for the best Dental Implant Dentist. One day as I was watching one of the Television Channels in Houston, Dr. Hanna was the guest along with one of the clinic's client being interviewed. After that episode I decided that " Dr. Hanna " will be that Implant Dentist that i have been looking for. I therefore contacted Comprehensive Dental Group of Houston right away and scheduled an appointment. On day one I was already amazed of the excellent customer service that I received. Everyone in the clinic are very professional, nice and made sure that I was comfortable including my husband . All my questions and concerns were answered in a timely manner. The cost of the Implant and whole process were explained clearly and to me it was reasonable. During the Implant procedure all the staff made sure that I was comfortable and explained all the post procedure expectations. I am very happy and satisfied with the excellent customer service that I received. Many Thanks to Dr. Hanna and to all the staff for all the hard work and dedication. I therefore highly recommend Comprehensive Dental Group of Houston for and any Dental services and Implant needs.Update on my review: My final teeth were placed after months of careful adjustments to ensure that it was the right fit. I was so happy and impressed how it looked really good and felt right. The fit is impressive. Many Thanks again to Dr. Hannah and to the whole team of Comprehensive Dental Group of Houston. A very special Thanks and shout out to "KIPP", he is "awesome " He is very knowledgeable, competent, gentle, caring and professional . He helped me so much throughout this process. How Much Does a Single Tooth Dental Implant Cost in Houston?

The cost of a single tooth dental implant in Houston typically ranges between $3,000 and $6,000, depending on factors such as:

  • The complexity of the procedure.
  • The need for additional procedures like bone grafting.
  • The materials used for the implant and crown.

While implants may have a higher upfront investment compared to bridges or dentures, their durability and low maintenance requirements make them a cost-effective choice in the long run.

The Comprehensive Dental Group offers third-party financing options to make implants accessible for all patients.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the recovery time for a single tooth dental implant?

While the healing period for the surgical site is relatively quick (usually a few weeks) you can expect to return to your normal routine within a few days. While the recovery process varies, it typically takes 3–6 months for the implant to fully integrate with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration. Our team will guide you through proper aftercare and follow-up appointments to ensure successful healing and long-term implant stability.

Absolutely. While dental bridges can last 10–15 years with proper care, single tooth implants are designed to be a permanent solution. The implant post integrates with your jawbone, providing superior strength and stability compared to a bridge, which relies on adjacent teeth for support. With good oral hygiene habits and regular dental check-ups, implants can last decades, making them a worthwhile investment in both your oral health and your confidence.

Although rare, potential complications include infection, implant failure, or nerve damage. However, these risks are significantly minimized when the procedure is performed by an experienced dental implant specialist like those at The Comprehensive Dental Group.
We use advanced imaging technology and meticulous planning to ensure precise placement and reduce the risk of complications. Our team provides thorough aftercare instructions and regular check-ins to monitor your progress.

Ideal candidates for single tooth dental implants are individuals who are missing a single tooth.

Even if you have bone loss, and have been turned away in the past from a different dental center, we can give you a chance at being a candidate with the help of advanced procedures like bone grafting. During your consultation, our team will evaluate your oral health, discuss your goals, and determine whether this solution is right for you. If you’re unsure, rest assured that we’re here to guide you every step of the way with various options that we will explore together.

To ensure the longevity of your dental implant, follow these simple care tips:

  • Brush and floss with a waterpik daily to maintain oral hygiene.
  • Avoid biting into hard objects like ice or pens to prevent damage.
  • Attend regular dental check-ups.

With proper care, your implant can provide a lifetime of smiles.
